May 20--Nine top managers of United Parcel Service spent the past month in Chattanooga trying to advance their careers.
Their "lessons" at local homeless shelters and social service agencies didn't have anything directly to do with their jobs around the country helping to run the nation's biggest shipping company. But as they wrapped up their four-week community internships Thursday, participants said their experiences building homes, working with children and riding with city policy should make them better managers.
