Qld: Package opened, nothing dangerous

Police say a suspicious package found on a Gold Coast street this morning contained
nothing dangerous.

Officers cordoned off an area around Minnie Street in Southport after a passer-by spotted
the package.

The police bomb squad was called in and people were evacuated from the area as experts
moved in to open the package.

The police say it didn't contain anything dangerous.
