German Air Berlin slips to net loss in 9-mo 2010.(Financial report)

(ADPnews) - Nov 18, 2010 - German low-cost airline Air Berlin (ETR:AB1) today reported a net loss of EUR 14.6 million (USD 19.9m) for the first nine months of 2010, after a net profit of EUR 13.8 million a year earlier.

The harsh winter and the flight cancellations, caused by the volcanic ash cloud from Iceland had a negative effect on the company's profitability, Air Berlin said.

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) fell to EUR 44.8 million from EUR 48.3 million, registered in the same period of 2009.
