Sep. 16--VOORHEESVILLE -- Lee Fenner says his gold-clad Nike Vapor soccer shoes are the best on the market.

As the Watervliet High football team found out Saturday afternoon, Fenner's shoes sure look good booting a football, too.

Fenner, a junior kicker who also plays goalkeeper for Voorheesville's soccer team, calmly drilled a 20-yard field goal with 1:51 remaining. Adam Duncan sacked Watervliet quarterback Mike Cooney to end the Cannoneers' final comeback bid, giving the Blackbirds a thrilling 19-18 victory in Class C South Division play.
